THE ONE-SIXTY NINE & FUNKY GOOD TIME

THE ONE SIXTY-NINE BAND

CELEBRATES ANNIE’S BIRTHDAY! OPEN TO THE PUBLIC…

Vocalist Annie Sellick was well established as a jazz singer and engaging performer who’s worked with luminaries such as Jeff Coffin (DMB), Bela Fleck, Tommy Emmanuel, Joey DeFrancesco and Mark O’Connor, but “Covid Creativity” and lots of down time inspired a passion for new musical directions…and a love of the electric bass. She fronts this new project with the fresh enthusiasm of a performer with a long-time pent-up desire to rock the funk out.

Guitarists Matt Cheek and Ashley Stephenson took their decade of weekly jams in a new direction when long-time friend Annie joined them at their practice spot on the Cumberland River - lot #169, that is. Fueled by brotherhood, barbecue, bourbon and bottled water led to boisterous jams that eventually took shape. They mined up the golden Tim Quinn on drums and formed The One Sixty-Nine which found its legs (and lots of spirit) at dive bars like Betty’s Grill in Nashville. They’re beginning to take this project to the great beyond, and can’t wait to meet you there.

Covers by The Meters, Betty Wright, The Allman Brothers, and their own funky twist on Smokey Robinson, Hall and Oats and the Beatles, plus an ever-growing pocket-full of originals.

FUNKY GOOD TIME is a monthly vinyl dance party occurring at the 5 Spot in Nashville, TN since 2007! Party host and DJ Case Bloom switches the tables with talented buddy BOWLS and others while dancers GET THE FUNK DOWN. There is always a live drummer - it’s part of the thing.

DJ, entrepreneur, promoter, crowd pleaser Case Bloom is the Co-Founder and Co-Owner of Tucker andBloom and The Boom Bap. Raised in the Music City on trips to local record stores, too many tacos, and late night hours taping mix shows off the radio, Case caught the DJ bug early on and has been putting in work behind the turntables and in the streets for a number of years. Case’s diverse musical selection, impeccable timing, and seamless mixing hit dancers square in the sweet spot, taking crowds on a journey through party classics covering Funk and Disco, Hip Hop, Breaks, House, Latin, and everything in between.
